About this workshop:
Learn how to make a bas-relief sculpture by creating your own paper cast from a selection of molds provided.
In the first class you will be taught the casting method and how to work with mulberry paper which has a unique flexibility allowing you to stretch and move and it around. Then reinforce the cast with plaster gauze pushing it into every crease and cranny readying it for the painting in the second class. In the second class your mold will have been prepped for you with a gesso that will give you a paintable base. You will paint and frame your sculpture in this class. |

About Seth Tuska:
Seth has spent the last 24 years creating and operating Tuska Studio which is the embodiment of the workings and teachings of Artist Educator John Tuska, his father. Prior to Tuska's passing in 1998, he asked that his life be shared as an educator and commissioned Seth to create a working studio to produce commercially some of his signature works and to teach process and technique encouraging others' hands and ideas involved. These classes are one of the various ways this directive is being fulfilled. The mission of the studio is to foster humanity through education and healing. |
