Travel with us to the unique and exciting city of Santa Fe. Known as “The City Different", Santa Fe, the nation’s oldest capital city, is a place unlike any other in the world. This trip, organized by Arts Connect in partnership with OperaLex willprovide the opportunity to experience all things Santa Fe. Univerisity of Kentucky Opera Director Dr Everett McCorvey, and University of Kentucky Opera Coach Dr Tedrin Blair Lindsay along with co-host Kate Savage, Executive Director of Arts Connect, will be along to to share their incredible knowledge and expertise.
We will stay in a 4-star hotel right in the cultural heart of the lively historic Railyard District, just a short walk from the central Plaza. Our schedule will allow you some time to do your own exploring, and shopping.

Here are some of the trip highlights:
- 6 nights at the historic Hotel Santa Fe and Spa, a tradition-centric retreat that invites you to experience true hospitality in the city's only Native American owned hotel. Swimming pool, restaurant, cocktail lounge and spa treatments all on site.
- Daily lunch and dinner as a group will be provided. Breakfast on your own.
- Best seats in the house for all five of the Santa Fe Opera 2023 performances. The Santa Fe Opera is renowned worldwide for its contribution to a living artform and for the passion it inspires in performers and audiences alike. Experience the awesomeness of these outside canopied performances whilst watching the sun set over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
- We will visit The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum that houses the largest collect of O'Keeffe work in the world. Drive out to Ghost Ranch where we will see some landscapes that she painted later in life, and then tour her home in Abiquiu.
- We will treat ourselves to a day at Ten Thousand Waves Spa and soak up some serious ryokan vibes from this Japanese style spa-centric sanctuary, then lunch at Izanami where they serve upscale izakaya fare--small plates served in a casual atmosphere with the most extensive selection of premium Japanese sake.
- A guided tour of the Museum of International Folk Art.
- An afternoon recital at the Santa Fe Chamber Musical Festival held in the Santa Fe Museum of Art, with a box lunch and docent-led tour to follow.
- An added bonus is that we will be in Santa Fe for the famous Indian Market This remarkable event takes place on and around the central plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and sponsors over one-thousand Native artists from more than one hundred tribal communities.
- Informal, fun and informative 'Tedrin Talks' every day to prepare you for each evening's opera performance.
- Plenty of time to explore other places of interest such as Canyon Road, Loretto Chapel and Palace of the Governors.
- There may be some other attractions added to our itinerary.
Special Note:
- Your trips host is Kate Savage with Arts Connect. Dr Everett McCorvey and Dr Tedrin Blair LIndsay are your Opera expert guides and fellow travellers.
- You should plan to take an early plane so that you can arrive in time for the first evening's Meet and Greet at 6:00pm on Monday, 14th August.
- Our trip prices and planning do not include your airfare and transport to the hotel - you'll need to make these arrangements yourself.
- Airports are Alberquque where you can book a shuttle into Santa Fe. Or Santa Fe Airport which is very tiny and you'll need an Uber into town.
- Remember there is a time change. Santa Fe is minus 3 hours.
- Hotel check out is on Sunday, 20th August by 11am.

Double Occupancy: $4,999 per person
You and your spouse/partner; or you and a roommate.
Single Occupancy: $6,200 per person
One person - private room.
Deadline to register is 15th April 2023
Your deposit of $2,500 is required in order to reserve your spot. Balance due by June 17.
Full refund if for any reason the trip is canceled.
Reservations cancelled before April 15 will receive the deposit less $500.
