Santa Fe, New Mexico
August 14 - 20, 2023
Join UK Opera Director Dr Everett McCorvey and UK Opera Coach Dr Tedrin Blair Lindsay to explore one of America's most charming art destinations for this once-in-a-lifetime 6 nights/7 days trip to Santa Fe to enjoy all five productions of the Santa Fe Opera Theatre’s 2023 season: Puccini's Tosca, Wagner's The Flying Dutchman, Debussy's Pelleas et Melisande, Dvorak's Rusalka, and Monteverdi's Orfeo.
Fun, informal, informative and hugely popular 'Tedrin Talks' will be offered each day by way of an introduction to the evening's scheduled performance. In addition to nightly opera attendance there will be an opportunity to visit Ghost Ranch, beloved home and inspirational landscape for many of Georgia O'Keeffe's artworks as well as a private tour of her studio/home in Abiquiu. Walk the historic neighborhoods and famous art district on a guided tour of Santa Fe whilst sampling some of the famous flavors of New Mexico cuisine. Dine in landscaped courtyards and patios, and indulge in organic artisan chocolates. There will be docent-led tours of the New Mexico Museum of Art as well as the Folk Art Museum where there will be time to linger in their fabulous gift shop. An afternoon concert at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival will also be on the itinerary and much of one day will be spent luxuriating at the world famous Ten Thousand Waves spa. Opportunities to visit additional landmarks such as the 17th century Palace of the Governors, the fabled art galleries of Canyon Road, the Santa Fe Plaza, the Railyard Historic Art District and the Lorretto Chapel will also be options. This trip has been organized by Arts Connect in partnership with OperaLex. Anyone interested is welcome. No membership required. Spaces will be limited. Santa Fe is at an altitude of approximately 7,000 feet above sea level. Walking is involved and at times will be strenuous. Please be realistic about your ability to participate fully before committing. |
