Arts Connect and The Lexington Philharmonic are proud to announce a partnership bringing together music and visual art through a new initiative called "Arts in Harmony" sponsored by the Bluegrass Complex of Wells Fargo Advisors. This partnership highlights the relationship between music and visual art, and will provide opportunities for audience members of both organizations to further appreciate the harmonious connection that exists between both art forms.

Any Fayette Co. High School student currently enrolled in academic year 2017-2018

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners at the Reception on December 8.
All submissions will be recognized in a printed program available that evening.

- Artwork to be two or three-dimensional and in any medium and style.
- Artwork to be a visual interpretation of the relationship between art and music.
Eligibility:
Any Fayette Co. High School student currently enrolled in academic year 2017-2018
Timeframe:
- Artists interested in participating must fill out and submit by Monday, October 16 the “Form of Intent” available at www.artconnectslex.org/form-of-intent-2017.html
- Artworks need to be dropped off on Saturday, October 28 at Arts Place, 161 North Mill Street, Lexington, KY 40507 between 10am-2pm.
- Anonymous judging by a panel of five will take place October 30 - November 3.
- Winners will be notified by Friday, November 10.
- Announcement of winners and presentation of awards to take place during the Reception and Holiday Open House sponsored by the Bluegrass Complex of Wells Fargo Advisors LLC, at the Thomas Hunt Morgan House, 210 North Broadway on Friday, December 8, 2017 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Selection:
Judges will evaluate the works on a percentage point system looking for:
- Concept and Creativity – 40%
- Artistic execution – 40%
- Use of media – 20%
Awards:

Terms and Conditions:
- Winners agree to release any and all ownership/copyrights to their work.
- Winners agree to their work being reproduced as boxed sets of greeting cards that will be for sale.
- Winners agree to their original work being auctioned to raise funds for Art Connects as silent auction items at the Open House on December 8.
